More than 25 years ago, Kathy McCabe opened her first small business: a cottage industry run out of her home selling dried florals. As the business grew, she became recognized not only for florals but her overall home design. Following what felt like a natural transition, Kathy established a professional interior design company.
Today, Kathy leads KBM Designs Interiors alongside a talented team of designers, including her daughter, Lindsey. Together, they create beautiful, functional homes that are thoughtfully tailored to the individual needs, lifestyles, and personalities of each client.
She is also the owner and merchandising visionary behind My Favorite Room; an adjoining home furnishings retail store. Here, she showcases her own personal design - a blending of new and antique objects and furnishings and serene, calming color palettes. It is this blending of old and new that inspires Kathy, and what she believes brings soul and life into every room.

At My Favorite Room, Kathy serves as the buyer, curator, and creative visionary behind the store’s unique aesthetic. Her discerning eye and passion for beautiful, unexpected pieces are reflected throughout the shop and in the experience she creates for every client.
Andrea Wilcox
Operations I Merchandising
Andrea brings a decade of industry experience, alongside a strong background in communications and consulting to KBM Designs. She oversees all daily business operations and logistics made for KBM design clients. On the creative side, Andrea is primarily responsible for styling and maintaining the My Favorite Room floor, orchestrating client and store photo shoots, and assisting with design installations.
Lindsey Horton
Senior Interior Designer I Buyer
Lindsey has been with KBM Designs for over 20 years and plays a vital role in shaping the firm's creative vision. She offers a complementary balance to the traditional KBM aesthetic, infusing spaces with her signature love of color and pattern. Her collaborative approach and distinctive eye brings clients back time and again. She is also the sole buyer and curator for our in house clothing boutique, Finley & Mac.
Sarah Harris
Interior Designer
Sarah brings more than 20 years of experience across multiple facets of the design industry, including hospitality and project management. She assists KBM Designs with construction projects by providing digital documentation, and detailed 2D renderings while managing day-to-day coordination with contractors. She also serves as our in-house vendor liaison, and manages our curated design library.

Janice Fluker
Operations I Studio Design
Drawing on her previous experience as a flight attendant, Janice brings impeccable customer service skills to My Favorite Room. She helps oversee and facilitate all purchases for My Favorite Room ensuring accuracy and quality standards. As a member of the MFR Studio team, she assists store customers in selecting home furnishings, and accessories as well as collaberating with the team on smaller in-home design projects like room refreshes and accessorizing.
Terri Webb
Customer Relations I Studio Design
Terri’s background as a collegate instructor brings an exceptional eye for detail and organization to My Favorite Room. She leads the Studio Design Team, facilitating client meetings, managing budgets, and helping ensure each project runs smoothly. Terri also serves as My Favorite Room’s special events coordinator and liaison to the Downtown McKinney community, helping foster meaningful connections and engagement through local charities and events.
Megan Logan
Customer Relations & Studio Design
Megan recently moved back to Texas to rejoin our team and brings valuable experience in design assistance, home staging, a natural sense of creativity. She assists My Favorite Room’s store clients and collaborates with the MFR Studio Team with small in-home projects, including room refreshes, accessorizing, and design updates. Megan also leads My Favorite Room’s marketing efforts, including Instagram, and assists with in-store photo shoots and other creative content.
